Geoffrey Manahi talks about the letter from Queen Elizabeth, recognising Haane’s remarkable bravery at Takrouna.
Translation
We are here in the Manahi DCM Conference Room at the RSA in Rotorua. Here behind us are the treasures that were given to us by the Queen of England, to us all of Te Arawa. Here is the picture of Queen Elizabeth of England, and here is her letter that talks about his deeds and conveys the thoughts of the Queen in respect of my father, and then this picture of the other treasure, the altar cloth.
